Myanmar is where Southeast Asia turns inward. More than one hundred and thirty ethnic groups live across its mountains, plains and river valleys, each with their own languages, customs and traditions. The Irrawaddy runs south from the northern highlands through Mandalay and past the plains of Bagan, where more than two thousand pagodas rise from the dry earth. In the east, the Shan Plateau holds Inle Lake, where the Intha people fish from wooden canoes, balancing on one leg.

Amasia has designed private journeys in Myanmar since 2012. Amasia still does.
